BSc Business Management (Finance)

As a part of the Twinning Program, I spent two years at Swansea University studying BSc Business Management (Finance). It were one of the most rewarding and enjoyable years of my life. Set on a beautiful sea-front campus with a diverse student community meant that this was an environment where one could enjoy working with colleagues and also discover lifelong friends. Additional factors what attracted me to Swansea University were the faculty and academic excellence, the infrastructure, and opportunities that were available beyond the classrooms.
The practicality and depth of the modules covered during my study gave me the skills I needed for a successful career in Finance. I was challenged in the classroom to attain the high standards of work in terms of my research to demonstrate strong industry examples. The faculty knowledge and expertise is the greatest resource for students to broaden their capabilities.
The infrastructure of Swansea University is world-class and provided me with the perfect learning environment, whether we are talking about the Library, the Sports Centre or the student support facilities was top notch! Every week there were cultural events student could take part in and I never missed the opportunity to attend debate, swimming, dancing and theatre events.
I am always excited to go to new places and meet new people, and my class was a fantastic mix of cultures from all around the world. I learned so much from them and feel like I've taken away so much more than I signed up for from my programme. I also had the opportunity to work part-time, which helped me be organised, manage my time efficiently and provided me with that extra little bit of money to travel.
After I left Swansea, I secured a scholarship to do my internship at Thomson Reuters in Mumbai to work on the Trading India project. The most important influence that Swansea University had on me is that my experience has made me think differently about my work and how to experiment with different ways of thinking in analysing information. It also gave me the fundamental skills needed to work in a global workplace. Swansea University fulfilled every aspect of how I expected my student life at university would be and the two years in Swansea is certainly something I will cherish for many years to come.
