Course Information : P G DIPLOMA.  

About the Program:
It has an inbuilt option for students / working professionals to study for one year and acquire qualification namely PGD (Post Graduate Diploma) in the field of specialization i.e., Finance, HR, Marketing & Business Administration.

Objective:

The broad objective of PGD course is to impart to the students, professional education, training and expertise in various aspects of business and its environment and provide them with opportunities to develop managerial and analytical skills in order to meet the challenges of the business at various entrepreneurial levels.

This is an optional program for the students pursuing Post Graduate courses (M.Com & MIB). Thus it is known as a Dual Qualification Program, where students not only Post graduate in a particular stream but also are qualified and trained through the simulation process like projects and assignments on specific concurrent topics, which would develop conceptual and analytical framework for treatment of different financial instruments and other services enabling students to understand the business process and problems – designing concepts, principles and strategies for simplified administration of business.

Vision:
To provide CME (Continued Management Education) irrespective of the age of the executives.

Salient Features:

  1. Guest speakers from industry to give an “insider’s” perspective.
  2. Reservation for dependents of serving and retired defence / paramilitary service personnel.
  3. Provision for in-service candidates to pursue the courses.
  4. Screening of documentaries and movies related to stock markets with discussions on lessons to learn from them.
  5. Industrial visits to the Stock Exchange, various companies, APMC yard, etc. to give participants a practical feel of the business and investing world.
  6. Provision to pursue Certificate Courses in German, Chinese, and French Language, Commodity & Capital Market, Finance Modeling, Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, Graphics Designing, Soft Skill Training, Photo school, Abhinaya-Personality Grooming Program.
  7. Creating small groups of 3-5 members out of the total participants that will each focus on a particular topic, research it over 1-2 weeks and make presentations to each other. Support for the smaller groups can be provided by inviting interested and committed participants of the current batch in various activities.
  8. Opportunity for investments by different students’ group over the duration of the course – with profit and loss sharing. Just an idea, which needs to be explored in detail.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION:

Working Professionals, Post Graduates and Under Graduates are eligible to apply. Candidates appearing for the final degree exam can also apply.

The courses are:

1. PG Diploma in Business Administration (PGDBA)
2. PG Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM)
3. PG Diploma in Financial Management (PGDFM)
4. PG Diploma in Marketing Management (PGDMM)

Classes will be held on Saturdays between 12pm and 7pm. & on Sundays (if needed).

ATTENDANCE:

Attendance of 75% is Compulsory for all the students, failing which the student will not be allowed to write the ESE. The students are expected to be in the class 10 minutes prior to the commencement of the class, as the attendance register will be marked and taken back within 5 minutes after the commencement of the classes and thereafter no claims on the grant of attendance shall be entertained. The college is aware with the constraints of the students of weekend classes in respect of regular attendance. In this regard students are expected to inform the concerned faculty or HOD about their absence. There will be no attendance credit for any leave accepted.

EXAMINATION:
There will be End Semester Examinations conducted only on Weekends. For the First Semester it will be held in the month of Oct./Nov. and for the Second semester in the month of April/May. The Time-Table will be announced well in advance. The examination will be conducted for 100 Marks and of three (3) hours duration. Incase of failure or absence from the exam, Supplementary Examinations will be conducted with the next batch.

Note:
Only ONE additional attempt is permitted.
There is no provision for Re-valuation for any of the PGD Programmes.

Other key information:

There will be no holidays on Saturdays

PHOTO I.D CARD [for purely weekend students]
The students will be provided with ID cards. Duplicate photo ID Cards will not be issued incase the original is lost. This photo ID cards have to be returned by the students while collecting their marks sheet & PG Diploma Certificate in the month of April / May.

LIBRARY [for purely weekend students]
Photo ID is also valid as Library Card for issue of books from the Library. Library will be open up to 1.00 pm on the class days. The student can take maximum of two books at a time.

NOTES
The students are to liaise with respective faculty members to provide them the notes through E-mails. The students would be advised to create the E-mail group to exchange the notes and other information.

Award of PGDBA / PGDHRM / PGDFM / PGDMM:
At the end of the year student will be awarded Marks Sheet & Govt. recognized PG Diploma Certificate. The students will have to submit the following documents to obtain the PG Diploma Certificate.

  1. All semesters original marks card and original Provisional Degree Certificate or original final Degree Certificate and original fee paid challan / receipt (This will be handed over back to the student immediately after verification on the same day).
  2. One set of attested photocopies of all the documents as mentioned in (a) above (this will be retained by the college)
  3. Original college identity card.
  4. No dues certificate from the library.
