A multidisciplinary science degree combining Economics, Data Analytics and Mathematics, building analytical and quantitative skills for data-driven problem solving.
The B.Sc. (Economics, Mathematics and Data Analytics) programme is an integrated degree with a deep specialisation in Economics, delivered under the Karnataka State Education Policy 2024 framework. In the first four semesters, all three subjects are studied equally, with an equal number of credits for each. In the final year, across the fifth and sixth semesters, students study only Economics subjects. Built on a credit-based, outcome-based structure, the programme connects these disciplines through critical thinking, logical reasoning and scientific temperament, preparing students to engage with issues from the local to the global.
Economics has been designed to provide cutting-edge expertise in the mainstream discipline. It builds a better understanding of social, economic and political issues and explores the full spectrum of the programme. The transferable skills attained through Economics are highly sought after by employers and increase the employability quotient of students in various dynamic fields. Students can become economists, government advisors, financial consultants, econometricians or bankers, and can also look forward to different government positions after successful completion of the programme. The curriculum integrates different fields such as Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, Econometrics and Mathematical Economics, Financial Economics and Stock Trading, and Public, Behavioural and Environmental Economics, with an inbuilt local as well as global perspective. Also, elements such as internships, case studies, seminars and research projects enhance a deeper understanding of the practical applications of the programme.
Mathematics courses provide a strong foundation in core mathematical topics such as calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and numerical methods with Python programming. They focus on practical applications, equipping students to address real-world challenges in diverse fields like science, finance, and economics. Additionally, the programme enhances proficiency in computational tools and techniques through hands-on projects and application-based mathematical modelling in areas such as data analysis, operations research, and finance.
Data Analytics courses have been designed to provide students with the essential skills necessary for extracting valuable insights from extensive datasets, empowering them to make informed decisions across various industries. Students delve into statistical techniques and advanced tools, honing their abilities to analyse and interpret complex data sets. The curriculum covers crucial aspects such as data cleaning, exploratory data analysis, and the application of Artificial Intelligence and machine learning algorithms to address real-world problems. Hands-on experience with popular data analysis programming languages like Python, R, and SQL is a focal point, enhancing students’ proficiency in data manipulation, with visualisation using Power BI, Tableau and Excel with AI integration. The candidates will be tested in the areas of Economics, Basic Maths, Logical Reasoning and Data Interpretation, and Communicative Skills in English and Grammar. The entrance exam paper will be for 60 marks consisting of 60 multiple choice questions (MCQs) for one mark each. The examination will be for a duration of one hour.
Only candidates provisionally selected from Round 1 shall be notified by email. Candidates who are not selected will not receive any further communication.
Candidates shortlisted from Round 1 will be called for Round 2. Qualified candidates are required to attend the subject knowledge assessment, personal interview and document verification round along with their parents in formal attire.
Candidates provisionally shortlisted for the personal interview will be notified by email. No email will be sent to candidates who are not shortlisted.

Guidelines for filling the application:
Application form to be filled (fill in all applicable fields) and submitted online through the college website (www.sjcc.edu.in).
On the success of the payment transaction and submission of the online application please note down the 8-digit Application Number generated by the software. The same should be quoted for all further correspondences during the time of admissions.
As soon as the results are announced the marks should be entered online and submitted online on or before the deadlines mentioned on the website.
The final list of the provisionally selected candidates and the schedule of the interview/orientation can be viewed on the website and applicant login. Provisionally selected candidates will be intimated through applicant login/E-mail.
Applicants who are selected for the interview/orientation should bring along with them the hard copy of:
• Printout of the filled-in online application form
• Valid ID (Aadhar, Passport etc.)
• Class X marks card
• Class XI marks card
• Class XII marks card (if available)
• Caste certificate (if Applicable)
