Journey of IQAC

ACADEMIC YEAR 2006-2007

In line with the NAAC guidelines, the College established an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) immediately after the first accreditation, to monitor the quality enhancement initiatives of the institution in terms of academic programmes and development. Keeping the NAAC guidelines, IQAC’s major work was directed to develop structures and systems for conscious, consistent and catalytic improvement in the overall performance of the college. The IQAC through its subcommittees was quite successful in implementing a culture of benchmarking and overall quality assurance.

Mr. Ravi Richard, the coordinator of IQAC was duly appreciated for his scholarly approach in preparing, writing and presenting a well appreciated Self Study Report; along with the staff who assisted him in implementing the IQAC recommendations and completing the Re- Accreditation process successfully. The NAAC Peer Team visited the college campus and was on the campus for two days, interacting and taking feedback from all the stakeholders of the institution. After the NAAC Peer Team visit, on February 10, 2007, the College was accredited with A Level and recognized as “College with Potential for Excellence” (CPE) by the UGC post the second cycle of accreditation.

CPE is a Scheme introduced by the University Grants Commission (UGC) during the IX Plan period (UPE) to encourage selected Universities to reach world-class standards in their chosen domain(s) by providing additional funds to them under the Scheme
