NAAC Accreditation

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an autonomous institution established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit higher education institutions, with a focus on promoting and sustaining quality in teaching, learning, research, governance, infrastructure and institutional practices. Accreditation provides institutions with a structured framework for reflecting on their performance, identifying areas for improvement and strengthening a culture of continuous quality enhancement.

St. Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC) has embraced this culture of quality through a sustained journey of assessment and improvement. The College has successfully completed four cycles of NAAC accreditation, securing *Five Stars in 2000, ‘A’ Grade in 2007 and 2012, and ‘A++’ Grade with a CGPA of 3.57/4.00 in the fourth cycle in February 2021*. SJCC was among the first colleges in Karnataka and among the few institutions in the country to attain the A++ grade in the fourth cycle under the Revised Accreditation Framework.

At SJCC, accreditation is viewed not simply as an institutional recognition but as an ongoing commitment to excellence. Through the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), the College continually strengthens teaching-learning practices, outcome-based education, research, extension, student support and institutional processes, while remaining rooted in its Jesuit tradition of academic excellence, character formation and social concern.
