About Programme

The B.Sc. (Economics, Mathematics and Data Analytics) programme is an integrated degree with a deep specialisation in Economics, delivered under the Karnataka State Education Policy 2024 framework. Built on a credit-based, outcome-based structure, the programme combines Indian Knowledge Systems with modern analytical tools, helping students think critically, work with data confidently, and understand both local and global issues. The Economics Major covers a wide range of areas including Finance, Econometrics, Operations Research, Environmental Studies, and Public Policy, with the fifth and sixth semesters focused on advanced economics to build deeper expertise. The Data Analytics component gives students practical experience with Python, R, Power BI, and SQL, training them in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualisation through real-world projects in fields such as finance, healthcare, and marketing. The Mathematics component builds the quantitative foundation needed to solve complex problems in science, engineering, and economics, covering calculus, linear algebra, and optimisation. Together, the three subjects create a well-rounded learning experience, supported by internships, seminars, case studies, and research projects that connect classroom learning to the real world. Graduates are well prepared for careers in economics, econometrics, public policy, data analytics, business intelligence, banking, and financial analysis.
