The library has been a fundamental part of the institution since its establishment in 1972. The library offers vital support for teaching, learning, and research activities of the college by disseminating knowledge and offering modern services to the academic fraternity.

The library upgraded its ESASYLIB ILMS from the desktop version to the latest cloud-based version for its daily in-house operations. It also helps user communities access the library catalogue and the online book reservation and renewal service 24/7. The automated modules include cataloguing and access, acquisition, serial control, member administration, circulation, and input/output management. A Web-OPAC is also available for searching the library's collections.

The library at St. Joseph's College of Commerce commits to expanding its collection of both print and electronic resources on a regular basis. The library's print collection is both extensive and balanced, consisting of 33,681 books, 65 national and 13 international journals, and 26 magazines. These publications cover a wide range of subjects, including commerce, management, mathematics, statistics, languages, personality development, competitive examinations, general literature, ACCA, CIMA, CA, and more; additionally, dedicated space is allocated for books on the Indian knowledge system. The library also maintains a diverse collection of valuable resources, including Kindles. In addition to print materials and ensuring 24/7 accessibility, the SJCC library currently maintains a collection of over 5500 e-journals and 57,086 e-books.

The library conducts annual orientation programs for incoming students and offers practical training on certain digital resources to enhance their information retrieval skills. Knimbus, a remote access platform, provides digital academic resources to faculty, research scholars, and students. This platform enabled access to subscribed digital resources using a single login and password, hence enhancing resource utilization.

The library has undergone a comprehensive renovation aimed at creating a modern, comfortable, and technology-enabled environment for readers, researchers, and students. The upgraded facility combines smart classroom technology, a renovated e-learning centre, a newly created Centre for AI Integration, dedicated individual study spaces, a calming reading ambience, and full climate control to support extended, focused use throughout the year.

Key Renovation Highlights

Smart Board Integration

An interactive smart board has been installed to support digital learning sessions, presentations, orientation programs, and collaborative group work, bringing modern instructional technology into the library environment.

Ambient Reading Space

A dedicated reading zone has been designed with soft lighting, comfortable seating, and a quiet layout to create a calm, inviting atmosphere that encourages focused and relaxed reading.

36 Individual Reading Carrels

Thirty-six individual reading carrels have been added to provide private, distraction-free study spots for students and patrons who prefer solo, concentrated study sessions.

Full Air Conditioning

The entire library is now fully air-conditioned, ensuring a comfortable climate-controlled environment for visitors and staff throughout the year, regardless of outside weather conditions.

Renovated E-Learning Centre

The library's e-learning centre has been fully renovated with upgraded with 21 computer workstations, high-speed internet connectivity, and modern furnishings to support online courses, digital research, and self-paced learning for students and patrons.

Centre for AI Integration

A dedicated Centre for AI Integration has been newly established within the library, equipped to introduce users to AI-powered research tools, data analysis platforms, and hands-on training in artificial intelligence applications for academic and professional use.
