About the Programme

Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) in Data Analytics and Machine Learning is a specialized undergraduate programme that combines a strong foundation in computer applications with data analytics, statistics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. The programme equips students with the technical and analytical skills required to collect, process, analyse, visualize, and interpret data for informed decision-making.

The programme brings together programming, statistical methods, data analytics, and machine learning within a structured, industry-oriented curriculum. It provides students with opportunities to develop computational thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills while gaining exposure to evolving technologies and data-driven practices.

Students gain hands-on experience with industry-relevant technologies such as Python, Java, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, and Advanced Excel, along with exposure to data mining, exploratory data analysis, predictive analytics, big data, deep learning, and artificial intelligence. The programme encourages innovation, analytical thinking, and the application of emerging technologies.

With a balanced integration of computing and analytics, the programme prepares graduates for emerging careers in data analytics, business intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, and related technology domains.

Eligibility

  • Mandatory eligibility for the programme is that the candidate must have passed at the +2 level (ISC / CBSE / Karnataka PU Board / other State Boards / International Boards) in any stream of Commerce & Science from any recognized board in India or abroad.
  • The candidate should preferably have studied Mathematics or Computer Science in classes 11 and 12.

Entrance Exam

  • The Entrance Examination for the BCA in Data Analytics and Machine Learning Programme will be conducted in offline and online mode.
  • Non-Karnataka and NRI candidates can opt for the online entrance exam and Round 2 interview by paying an additional fee of Rs. 1,500.

Round 1: St. Joseph's Aptitude Test (SCAAT)

The candidates will be tested in the areas of Computer Science, Communicative Skills in English and Grammar, Quantitative Aptitude, Mathematics, Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, and Current Affairs. The entrance exam paper will be for 60 marks consisting of 60 multiple choice questions (MCQs) for one mark each. The examination will be for a duration of one hour.

Guidelines:

  • Each section will consist of 15 questions.
  • All questions are compulsory.
  • There will be no negative marking.

Only candidates provisionally selected from Round 1 shall be notified by email. Candidates who are not selected will not receive any further communication.

Round 2: Subject Knowledge Interview

Candidates shortlisted from Round 1 will be called for Round 2. Qualified candidates in Round 1 are required to attend the subject knowledge assessment, personal interview and document verification round along with their parents in formal attire.

Candidates provisionally shortlisted for the personal interview will be notified by email. No email will be sent to candidates who are not shortlisted.

Round 3: Personal Interview & Document Verification

Documents required for the interview (original and photocopy) of:

  1. Printout of the filled-in online application form
  2. Valid ID (Updated Aadhar)
  3. Class X marks card
  4. Class XI marks card
  5. Class XII marks card (if available)
  6. Caste certificate (if applicable)
  7. A letter from the Parish Priest (if Catholic)
  8. E-admit card

Indian nationals pursuing an international curriculum in India will pay the fee applicable for the NRI students during the first year.

Details regarding payment of fees by the candidate will be intimated in the Provisional Admission letter.

Application Procedure

Guidelines for filling the application:

  • Candidates awaiting results from ISC/CBSE/ Karnataka PU Board/Other State Boards/International Boards can submit their application forms online.
  • Candidates are required to provide their email, parent's email, and mobile numbers for communication purposes.
  • Candidate will have to pay the application fee of Rs. 800/- which is non-refundable. The fee must be paid through the Online Payment gateway.
  • Candidates must have a scanned copy of the recent colour passport size (35mm X 45mm or 98px X 128px) photograph in formal attire on a white background in less than 100 KB. (MM= Millimeter; px =Pixels) in jpg/jpeg format. The photo should not be blurred or defaced. Selfies and cropped images are not acceptable.
  • Class X | XII | Marks Card to be used as a reference document to enter personal details such as name, parent name, date of birth etc.
  • Marks for each subject, including languages, should be entered in the marks field.
  • A copy of the final examination Marks card of X | XI and Class XII (if available) must be uploaded as required.
  • Ignorance of any of the above guidelines will disqualify the candidate's application.
  • Incomplete or incorrect applications will be automatically rejected.

Step1

Application form to be filled (fill in all applicable fields) and submitted online through the college website (www.sjcc.edu.in).

On the success of the payment transaction and submission of the online application please note down the 8-digit Application Number generated by the software. The same should be quoted for all further correspondences during the time of admissions.

As soon as the results are announced the marks should be entered online and submitted online on or before the deadlines mentioned on the website.

The final list of the provisionally selected candidates and the schedule of the interview/orientation can be viewed on the website and applicant login. Provisionally selected candidates will be intimated through applicant login/E-mail.

Applicants who are selected for the interview/orientation should bring original and photocopy of:

General Instructions

  • The e-admit card is required to be kept with the candidate throughout the admission process.
  • All students must keep a valid ID proof (such as Driving Licence/Passport/Electoral ID/Updated Aadhaar Card) along with aptitude test admit cards. Passport and visa page if from outside India.
  • Candidates should download their admit card from their applicant portal (download admit card) on the dates mentioned.
  • Candidates will not be allowed for Round 2 if they do not meet the minimum eligibility conditions.
  • In case the candidate has applied for two or more programmes, date/time will be notified in advance. Candidates are requested to check the website for details.
  • The responsibility of satisfying the eligibility criteria for the entrance exam lies with the candidate. Issue of the e-admit card for the selection process does not imply that the eligibility criteria are satisfied.

The college does not demand capitation/donations for admissions. In case such a demand is made by anyone, it is requested to bring it to the notice, in writing, to the Vice President, Bangalore Jesuit Educational Society, Jesuit Nivas, 35, Museum Road, Bengaluru – 560 025.

The decision of the Admissions Committee at St. Joseph's College of Commerce will be final and binding in all matters concerning admissions.
