In order to give greenery in campus an additional mileage, new blocks were constructed near the basketball court and new plants were planted. Vertical garden was put up near college canteen this year. Vertical Gardening helps in overcoming space constraints and carbon footprints. In this light, a beautiful vertical garden was made this year in the corridor (near office) with small beautiful flowering plants. Banana plants were planted near the college canteen. Many new pots were bought and flowering plants (hibiscus) were planted and beautifully arranged near the stairs of the college entrance. The college has been winning The Best Ornamental Garden competition conducted by the Mysore Horticulture Department for the 4th year in a row. AICUF in collaboration with B. Com (Travel and Tourism) Department took an initiative to take sustainable steps towards conserving the environment. The event witnessed a gardening competition and a Cyclothon event.

In addition to these practices, the college library has digitalized its operations and encourages the usage of e- resources. The Eco Club of the college constantly organises events to spread awareness of environment friendly practices and management of resources. ‘Wealth out of Waste’ was one such event conducted.

Awareness drives are organised at Lalbagh Park and various other venues to spread awareness of the ill-effects of using plastics among the public there. Cleanliness drives are also organised by the Outreach programme every year.
