Chronological Event Summary

1. Morph Code 2026
Date:3–4 September 2026  |  Venue:Magis Hall (Day 1); AV Room 1 (Day 2)  |  Status: Completed

Morph Code 2026 was an interactive business competition organised by the Josephite Business Club, conducted in hybrid mode and focused on adaptability, strategic thinking and decision-making. It encouraged participants to think differently, make smart decisions with limited resources, and understand how business strategies must change with the situation.

Day 1 at Magis Hall opened with participants registering on the event website, followed by a Capital Test quiz through which teams earned Morph Coins. In the Morph Auction, teams used their limited budget to bid for two to three brands or companies, with hidden Boon/Bane conditions attached. Further rounds — Morph Code, Morph Market and an Overnight Build — required teams to build a complete business around their brand and product. Day 2 in AV Room 1 featured a 60-second pitch, Celebrity Reveal, PR Crisis, Morph Stake, the Boon/Bane reveal, final preparation under a Market Shock, and a Final Boardroom presentation with Q&A.

Participants learned that business extends beyond the classroom: they managed limited resources, assessed the value of brands and companies, and adapted strategies as conditions changed. The event conveyed its central message that a perfect plan is not always enough — knowing how to adapt, or "Morph Code", is equally important. Participants responded positively to the interactive format.

5. From Idea to IP – Decoding Intellectual Property through Real Cases
Date:27 August 2026  |  Venue: Xavier Hall  |  Status: Completed

The seminar "From Idea to IP – Decoding Intellectual Property through Real Cases" was organised to give participants a comprehensive and practical understanding of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and their growing significance in contemporary legal, commercial and creative environments. The session was led by Mr. Sanjay Sugumaran, Advocate and Founder of Arcadia Legal.

The resource person introduced the principal categories of intellectual property — patents, trademarks, copyrights, geographical indications and designs — explaining the purpose and scope of each. Real-world case studies connected theory to practice: the Bisleri–Coca-Cola Maaza dispute illustrated the implications of trademark assignments; the Apple Computers–Apple Corps dispute showed the complexity and prolonged nature of trademark conflicts; and the Prada–Kolhapuri chappal controversy highlighted IP in relation to traditional products, culture, fashion and geographical identity. The discussion of Geographical Indications also connected the session with Indian Knowledge Systems by emphasising the protection of traditional, region-specific products.

The seminar demonstrated that IPR is not merely a legal formality but a strategic mechanism for protecting innovation, creativity, brand identity and economic interests. Participants came away understanding the importance of timely registration, appropriate legal protection and effective enforcement of intellectual assets in a globalised, innovation-driven economy.
