Canteen Committee

Though not a statutory committee, Canteen Committee is an important committee of the college, reinforcing the role of campus canteens as essential student support systems that contribute to overall well-being. The committee includes the canteen owners, who are made aware of the key rules and operational guidelines to ensure quality service. Emphasis is placed on maintaining high standards of food hygiene, affordability, appropriate portion sizes, and the inclusion of healthy menu options to meet students’ nutritional needs. Safety protocols such as waste segregation, use of protective gear, pest control, and proper storage practices are also practiced to safeguard student health. Regular monitoring mechanisms were also discussed to ensure compliance. By prioritizing safe, accessible, and student-friendly food services, the committee aims to create a supportive campus environment that promotes student welfare, comfort, and a positive academic experience.
